message\1\text=”Welcome to squash power hitting session. Designed to build specific power, combined with accuracy.”
message\2\text=”Ok, hit some straight drives, volleys and cross courts for 4 minutes to get the ball warm”
message\3\text=last 60 s.
message\4\text=”Ok, the first exercise is 5 minutes worth of straight drives.”
message\5\text=”Aim to hit the ball below the service line on the front wall, for all drives. ”
message\6\text=”However, they must all go to a length. This is crucial. A short length will get you into trouble.”
message\7\text=”Judge the length, so that the second bounce would hit the back wall nick.”
message\8\text=”This may mean the ball bounces just behind the service box, depending how warm the court is.”
message\9\text=”Ok, start now, hitting fore hand hard lengths, below the service line. 5 minutes.”
message\10\text=”If you take the ball off the back wall, wait for the ball to drop before hitting.”
message\11\text=”Stop. Ok switch to the back hand. Again, hit below the service line, but it must be to a length.”
message\12\text=”If you take it off the back wall, Wait for the ball to drop before hitting. This improves the timing”
message\13\text=”Ok stop. Now volleys. Fore hand first. Stand around the short line, to the right of the tee.”
message\14\text=So that you could just about touch the side wall with your racket.
message\15\text=”Now do continuous volleys to yourself, hitting the ball just obove the service line.”
message\16\text=”Make sure you get a quick back swing for each volley, and plenty of cut on the ball. Go 5 minutes”
message\17\text=”Keep a good technique. Quick back swing preparation, and keep that wrist cocked”
message\18\text=Ok. You will feel your fore arm after that. Now back hand. Same continuous volleys. Go.
message\19\text=Make sure your shoulder is well round before each volley. Think to put your shoulder to your chin
message\20\text=ok. Now back to fore hand straight drives. 3 minutes this time. Go.
message\21\text=”Make sure these are going to a length. Wait for the ball to drop, then explode into the shot”
message\22\text=”Stop. Ok, swop to back hand drives. 3 minutes. go.”
message\23\text=”Keep that shoulder well round in preparation for the shot. Racket up, and wrist cocked”
message\24\text=Stop. Fore hand continuous volleys. 3 minutes. Go.
message\25\text=”Wrist cocked, racket back before each volley. Cut the ball.”
message\26\text=”Ok, stop. Switch to back hand. 3 minutes volleys. go.”
message\27\text=Ok stop. Your arm should be feeling nice and pumped now.
message\28\text=To finish we will do 3 minutes worth of figure of 8 volleys.
message\29\text=”Stand on the tee, and volley above the service line into the back hand corner”
message\30\text=”The ball should just hit the front wall before the side wall, and then come back to you.”
message\31\text=”Then volley to the other corner, above the service line, to hit the front wall, then side wall”
message\32\text=then back to you. Keep a good cocked wrist and racket up. Go 3 minutes.
message\33\text=last 60 s
